Accordion Fold - V Family

The family traveled to Prior Lake to have their photos taken! I had been to this park a week or so earlier and the foliage on the trees was spectacular! Unfortunately, as we all know - that fall color does not last. For their photo session, we had limited scenery to work with, but with a family like this, the background was not important. Can you get over how cute these kids are! The family photo was on the front, with individual shots of the three kids and a second family on the inside. Each photo on the inside was on an individual section of the accordion fold card. On the back we put together a collage of their favorite photos from the year along with a few more of my photos! Can you spot Michelle Obama! Must have been a very exciting day for them.

Tri-Fold Brochures! This project was a joint effect between Jenny at "Memories by Jenny" and myself. She completed most of the design work, I assisted with the final tweaking and the ordering process.

Family Fun Night 2010

Another Family Fun Night at the boys elementary school is over! A lot of credit goes to our current PTC president for organizing this fantastic event the families! Thanks Patti! I had the honor of being the evening's fun photo photographer. By the looks of the kids that came in to be photographed, crazy hair and face painting (done by a couple of very talented ladies might I add) was as popular as ever! Nail polish for the boys also seemed to be a trend! Next year, free nail polishing, $5 for nail polish removing! One more quick shout out to our fabulous d.j.'s for the night (Bruce and Jeff) - I didn't get to leave my post to see you in action, but the reviews have been terrific!

Puppy Mania!

I've noticed a trend this year! Just as the kids get older so they are "easier", as in able to do things for themselves, the family adds a dog! Numerous friends and relatives have added four legged friends to their homes this year. Will there be a new puppy addition to our household? The jury is still out on that one. We do have the fluffy cat we found in the backyard 4 years ago. Not sure if he is interested in anyone stealing his limelight away.

Rocking Christmas

Continuing this week with Holiday card samples from 2009. We had a rocking good time during this photo shoot. I love a theme - the coordinating family rocker t-shirts and guitar hero props worked perfect! To complete this card, it was printed as a flat panel (2 sided) card with a pearl finish.

Accordion Fold Card - H Family

I've had the pleasure of working with this family designing cards since 2005! This year their card was a vertical format accordion fold card! The first image is a photograph of the card itself. The following 8 images shows each panel of the card (cover, 4 panels for the inside and 3 panels for the back. I'm not sure how many pictures are displayed in this card - but the over all look is fantastic! The majority of the photos came from the family, but I helped them out by photographing the photos for the cover and the featured (inside the frames) photos from the inside and back. Next week will order this card as a poster for the family to display all year long. Then...... back to work to start the 2010 card!

I love working with business people to create one of a kind greetings for their companies. This one was for a local financial planner. It was tons of fun photographing his children for this card. Hard to believe it was 60+ degrees that day in October. Currently the temperature in Minnesota is struggling to reach above zero.... Those 60 degree days seem a distant memory.

Hello! It's been a while since I've updated the blog.... It's not that I haven't been busy, but I've been busy working on Holiday orders for the upcoming season..... I don't like to ruin the surprise, so I keep all these "under wraps" until the following year..... I wish I could show you, but there is "no peeking" until Christmas. These two "puppies" have tons of energy! We took these pictures in the afternoon - hoping they would be moving a little slower! They did a nice job of "posing" and so did their best gal! These dogs certainly love her as she loves them. My favorite is Gauge, but please don't let Goose know.

Pocahontas

Isn't she beautiful!!! M had dressed up as Pocahontas for a school project! I had a great time wandering through the woods with my guide and taking a few pictures along the way :) Such a sweet girl and shares the exact same birthday as my boys!

It was a flurry of activity this week, with senior and children sessions! These two girls are so cute and fun to work with! It seemed that everything that could go wrong, did on this day - with first being delayed do to hail in the morning and then less then ideal conditions at noon, but I fell in love with this shot and had to post it right away. New senior sneak peeks will be following soon!

We spent a week in Colorado over the 4th of July! The scenery was stunning! Unfortunately, the weather was not always cooperating! The clouds were really building up one evening as we walked downtown. We just happened by these log houses and I had to take a pictures of the clouds over the mountains.

Poppies

As I sit in my office I hear frequent sounds of a pheasant outside. I decided this morning too see if I could get a picture of him. No luck, he was too quick for me. While I was outside I noticed the beautiful poppies. They reminded me of my days working at the University of Minnesota Art Museum and the Georgia O'Keeffe paintings in their collection. I snapped a few picture pictures of them.

Parasols

Parasols! I ordered some brightly colored parasols that I thought would make fun photo props. I had to talk a neighbor girl into modeling with the parasols, as it's just not a very appropriate prop for boys. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day. I have a couple more ideas, I'll need to try when I can round up some more girls. She did a great job of modeling for me!

Baseball

During this season, when I'm not busy working on team soccer pictures, I take action baseball pictures of my kids, and the other kids on the team, just for fun! I love this one of K as he caught this ball. I was too lazy to get up closer to the fence to shoot though it, or sneak around it - but I kind of like the effect the fence created in this picture. K is really liking pitching this year.

I volunteered at our district's PTC carnival to be the photographer for the "Jail and Bail" booth. This little clown was one of my favorite "prisoners". Is he happy or sad about going to Jail? I'm not quite sure.

White Chiropractic

I photographed these lovely three doctors for some new business cards and promotional material. We had a great time, but couldn't decide between the teal or purple clothing choices. We spent a wonderful week in Florida! Most of our time was spent working on sand sculpture master pieces! Truly enjoyed the 80 degree temperatures! It will warm up in Minnesota - eventually..........

Munzie

This morning I took a few quick shot of some of M and M and their dog Munzie! Poor Munzie is suffering from arthritis in her hind legs and can barely walk anymore. The problem is, in her head she is still a puppy! My boys love hanging out in the "hood" with M and M! Spring is here! The rip sticks, scooters and bikes are ready to hit the pavement.

I am so excited to offer Eco-Friendly printing as an option for some of my products. "Art Recycled" paper is produced 100% from post consumer refuse. This paper is available for all press printed products, including folded cards, flat panel cards, and specialty cards, such as accordion, wide format and tri-fold. Art Recycled paper is priced the same as the linen and watercolor press printed products. I can't want to start ordering this new paper!

Although here in Minnesota there is still piles of snow on the ground, spring is just around the corner and graduation season will be upon us. My first order of announcements for the 2009 season has been shipped! I have so much fun creating these. She collected a picture from each month and they were placed on the card in order. This card highlights important events during the year and shows how their little ones are growning!

The boys are way too cool to give out valentine's with their pictures on this year. I did talk them into this little photo shoot and had to promise that I would only send the cards to the grandparents. I've been also banned from playing guitar hero when their friends are over! I guess it's not "cool" to have Mom included in your jam session.

Accordian Fold Card

The accordian fold is always difficult to explain! There are four panels on each side that fold like an accoridan. The "front" of the card is actually on the back of the card when flat. I had a wonderful time working with this family with this card. I photographed them 3 different times (summer, fall, and winter) It was a lot of fun and the kids are so sweet.

I volunteered at c, c, and k's school to be the photographer for family fun night. The kids did graffiti on the back side of an old piece of white savage paper the week before the event. I thought it turned out to be a fun background. We took and printed about 200 photos that night. Everyone had a lot of fun.

KS Grad Photos

Long Format - Press Printed Cards

This was a fun card that I put together this season. It was printed as a long format card as at the fold is at the narrow end of the card instead of the wide side of the card.
